Fortra Threat Brain

Fortra Threat Brain acts as a comprehensive information hub, drawing from telemetry data across its extensive portfolio of products. This already robust set is further enriched by insights gathered from the dark web, social media, law enforcement, and a select group of strategic partners. 

As the central component of the platform, Fortra Threat Brain ingests and normalizes IOCs (indicators of compromises) of from Fortra products, making the refined threat intelligence accessible throughout the platform. How Threat Brain Works?

Fortra mobilizes machine learning to find threats faster and evaluate risks. Here are some examples of how we use ML to increase protected outcomes for our customers: 

  • Anomaly detection through unsupervised learning and clustering across operating systems; web applications; and cloud, network, and SaaS applications

It is consistently receiving the most up to date risks and indicators of compromise across all attack paths from the entire customer base. 
 
GoAnywhere MFT will use reputation intelligence for IP addresses, Domains, emails, and URIs to pro-actively protect against cyber threats.  

GoAnywhere Potential Threat Brain Integration Points 

  • Block malicious IP addresses from accessing the system 
  • Block outgoing Secure Mail to malicious email address(s) 
  • Block web user self-registration with malicious email 
  • Block resource connections with malicious IP / Domain 
  • Sanitize malicious URLs from free form text (forms, email body) 

GoAnywhere will feed new data into Threat Brain whenever malicious IPs are detected through either automatic or manual detection (Automatic IP Block List). 

Since cybercriminals often target multiple GoAnywhere deployments, blocking an actor on one system helps protect others, strengthening security across the entire customer base.
